LVMH Taps Apple Exec As Chief Digital Officer

LVMH Group has tapped former Apple music executive Ian Rogers has joined as the Chief Digital Officer.

At his new position, Rogers will help to develop LVMH and its luxury brand portfolio to develop an online retail and e-commerce presence.

“I am happy to welcome Ian into our Group to strengthen our digital ecosystem,” said Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of LVMH in a morning release. “Ian will bring his extensive experience in high-end digital ventures and his innovation-driven spirit to develop LVMH leadership in the digital luxury field.”

In a surprise move, just two months after Apple debuted its music streaming service, Rogers announced his resignation last week. He also helped lead the highly popular streaming Beats 1 radio station online.

He is a graduate of Indiana University and has worked with Yahoo, Topskin Media and joined Beats Music in 2013 as the CEO of the company. At Apple he was named senior director of eats Music after the company acquired the headphones and music company.

Rogers will start his role in October.
