Havaianas is going to Disney World. The Brazilian flip-flop brand said it plans to supply footwear to several of the retail stores located on the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disney Vacation Club properties.
The company has been producing flip-flops for the entertainment conglomerate since 2011, but the deal announced today will give it key placement within Disney’s theme parks.
Guest can buy the Disney-branded flip-flops at 22 stores, as well as at a dedicated build-out at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
“We are thrilled to have entered into this relationship with the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort and Disney Vacation Club because they embody instant joy much like Havaianas,” Marcio Moura, Havaianas’ USA President, said in a statement. “We look forward to creating a harmonious relationship and further expanding opportunities within the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort and Disney Vacation Club in the coming years.”
Havaianas also plans to go a step further by sponsoring all Disney running races. That partnership begins in November.

The flip-flop brand, founded in 1962, has been working hard this year to connect with more American consumers.
In January, Tara Wessells, senior merchandising manager for Havaianas USA, told Footwear News the 2015 lines would take inspiration from Bhutan. “We found real brand synergy between Bhutan and Brazil. They both stand for joy, happiness, vibrancy,” she said.
Wessells later added: “We try to curate what makes the most sense for each market, and what made sense for the U.S. this time was a lot.”
