Raf Simons made it snow in Tokyo.
The creative director of Dior set the stage for the French fashion house’s pre-fall ’15 collection in a sumo auditorium, equipped with its own wintery mix.
Known for his minimalist aesthetic, Simons was anything but predictable in his latest offering, which saw dresscoats nipped at the waist paired with bold, over-the-knee boots in unlikely color combinations. A ladylike taupe coat was worn with a lemon-colored pointy pair, navy platforms amped up a structural ivory look, while chocolate splashed with blue boots made a statement against a green number with exposed zip and sliver sleeves.
The collection drew a flurry of praise from the fashion press on social media, where the brand posted a video of the full show on Twitter:
