It’s no surprise that Luke Lambert lives life in the fast lane. The crew chief of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet keeps his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team running at full speed. “The most exciting part is the competition side — watching the team succeed, excel and be challenged as a group,” said the 31-year-old, one of the youngest chiefs in the series. “I’m responsible for making final decisions on car construction and race strategy.” And Lambert, who also serves as a Cat Footwear brand ambassador, said a comfortable pair of workboots is essential for those long hours at the track. “It’s fast-paced and we spend a lot of time on our feet running around, so it’s important that we’re [well]-equipped.” Off-road, the North Carolina native is a jeans-and-shorts type of guy and can often be found in sneakers or boots. His other tastes tend to be equally casual, from tailgating to Taco Bell.
