Inside the Closet of Disney’s Rowan Blanchard

As star of the new TV series “Girl Meets World,” Rowan Blanchard is Disney Channel’s newly crowned tween queen — and she has a royal wardrobe to match.

“I would raid my character’s entire closet if I could, but then I might be out of a job,” said the 12-year-old Los Angeles native, who plays seventh-grader Riley, the precocious daughter of 1990s power couple Cory and Topanga Matthews of “Boy Meets World.” “The show’s stylists are stellar at choosing on-trend pieces. Riley has this gorgeous one-of-a-kind vintage dress, and I have driven the wardrobe staff insane asking when I can borrow it.”

Blanchard said Riley, who “likes to get really dressed up for school — we make endless jokes about it on set,” is inspiring her to make bolder fashion choices of her own. “I’m definitely influenced by Riley’s style. I have worn things and paired things together that I never thought I would have the nerve to,” said the actress, whose ever-expanding shoe collection is a mix of sophisticated designer styles and comfy kicks.

During a whirlwind summer of travel and publicity for the show, which premiered June 27, Blanchard had plenty of opportunities to flex her fashion muscle and try out new looks. And she’s having fun along the way.

“Working on [‘Girl Meets World’] is an actor’s dream,” Blanchard said. “I feel like I’ve been on this wild ride of waiting for the show to come out [and for] fans to finally get to see it.”

Here, the spunky star talks shoes, celebrity icons and her favorite Hollywood shopping haunts.

Pairs owned:
“Around 30, but it depends on when I’m stealing my mom’s shoes.”

Favorite brands: Charlotte Olympia, Converse, Dolce Vita, Dr. Martens, Free People, Frye, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Steve Madden, Stuart Weitzman, Ted Baker, Toms, Topshop, Ugg Australia, Zara

Personal style: “It varies every day — that’s the beauty of fashion. On regular days, I usually go for a tomboyish, eclectic feel or a boho-chic look. My friends think I’m ridiculous [because] I have to get dressed up to walk from my bedroom to the bathroom. On red carpets, I am definitely drawn to florals and a more sophisticated look.”

Trend I’m loving right now:
“Gladiator sandals. It’s funny because when I first saw them, I hated them. But then I saw them done right and realized they’re awesome.”

Go-to comfy shoes for long work days:
“I am basically spending this entire summer in airports, so I live in Nike and Converse [sneakers] and Ugg boots. Oh, how I wish I could arrive in an airport with heels like Victoria Beckham, another fashion queen, but it is impossible.”

Favorite on-set look:
“Riley has these gorgeous maroon lace-up heels by Free People. She’ll wear them with a darker outfit for a pop of color.”

Next splurge: “When I’m in New York to do press [this summer], I’ll take a trip over to Fifth Avenue, one of my favorite places on earth, and splurge on these beautiful Charlotte Olympia shoes [I’ve been eyeing].”

Favorite Los Angeles shopping spots:
“I am a total mall girl. If I’m not at work, out of town or eating, I’m at the mall. I love my local Westfield, Ventura Boulevard and Topanga Canyon. And, of course, Melrose Avenue, which has the coolest stores.”

Fashion inspiration: “I have been following the runways since I was 9. I also look for inspiration in magazines, from my best friends and on the E! show ‘Fashion Police,’ which I’m addicted to.”

Celebrity style icons: “Oh my goodness, I have so many. Definitely Jennifer Lawrence, especially because Dior is my forever-favorite fashion house and she is their spokeswoman. Also, Audrey Hepburn had the perfect combination of class and glamour. My other favorites are Blake Lively, Kiernan Shipka, Emma Stone and Lupita Nyong’o. Those girls pick the most unique, intricate pieces and own them every time.”
