Zappos.com’s CEO, Tony Hsieh, catches Spy up on all the action in downtown Las Vegas:
What’s new downtown since the last round of shows?
TH: “Zappos.com has officially taken over the former City Hall building. The Container Park [7th Street and Fremont Street] opened in November and has been a big hit.”
And the biggest must-see at the Container Park?
TH: “There is a 40-foot-tall praying mantis [formerly featured at the Burning Man festival] at the Container Park that shoots out 20-foot flames. It causes people to scream, then laugh.”
Where is your top dinner spot?
TH: “Gold Spike [217 Las Vegas Blvd. N.] is a former casino we converted into a co-working space by day and a fun bar/lounge by night. It’s great for late-night eating.”
