Paris Runway Trend: Knees Up

For fall ’14, runway boots delivered a tall order. While cropped bootie styles were still present in Paris, the real news addressed the hotly contested area just below and above the kneecap. Designers made a case for these hovering styles, which were often paired with abbreviated hemlines to show a flash of thigh. Formerly a no-man’s land, this boot brigade suited the late 1960s and early ’70s spirit seen at Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent and Valentino, among others.
