The actress, who serves as artistic director for the company, has been working with the design and marketing teams to prepare the fall ’14 line.
“When I first [started working on the Pour La Victoire shoe collection], the fashion at the moment was really high, high platforms,” Diaz said. “It wasn’t something I was wearing necessarily because I have so much height already. I’m such a stickler for shoes and function. And that’s what we are getting back to with this line — function.”
Diaz, who said she mainly wears flats when in New York, maintains that shoppers want something “that looks good on the foot but stays on the foot and doesn’t require a lot of work to do so.”
The fall lineup indeed has a New York feel, featuring ankle boots (both short and tall) in black, gray and red, with a sprinkling of bags for good measure. Prices range from $195 to $495.
