Android Homme Relaunches Men’s Shoes for Spring ’15

Los Angeles-based brand Android Homme has relaunched for the spring ’15 season.

The men’s collection, which ranges from $440 to $590, now includes a tight focus of three sneaker styles including a high-top, low-top and runner. The three styles come in red, black and white embossed leather.

Though the brand initially launched in 2008, it has discontinued all existing styles and shifted its focus to reflect the current burgeoning sneaker market. The collection will launch on the Android Homme’s website on Feb. 15.

Below, see three essential questions with founder and designer Javier Laval:

What were you thinking design-wise for spring ’15?
I was committed to simple, luxurious minimalism. For me, that’s clean, classic silhouettes like a low-top, high-top and runner. The use of the best materials and clean, refined hardware give it the luxurious touch that our discerning customer is looking for. I also decided to go with a monotone color palette, and python-embossed leather so the shoe would have texture.

Tell me about the relaunch: What things have changed and why?
What we’re doing differently this time is really focusing on quality. The new luxury customer is willing to pay to know that their shoe is handmade in Italy, and that an incredible amount of attention and focus has gone into the design. We shifted the bulk of our production to Italy and are working with a small, family-owned factory that makes shoes for some of the most renowned luxury brands in the world. Our focus is to evolve with the rapidly changing demands of savvy customers.

What’s next for the brand?
Some of the most exciting things we have coming up for the brand are our retail locations, set to open in 2015 in both Shanghai and Beijing. The luxury consumers in Asia have really gravitated to our brand and styles, so we decided that the best place to deliver a stand-alone store is in China. We also have some exciting collaborations happening in 2015 that will be sure to capture everyone’s attention.
