Miss South Africa, 22-year-old Rolene Strauss, was named Miss World 2014 last night — and she wore sky-high stilettos to accept her crown.
Though Strauss’ ruffled floor-length gown covered most of the shoes, which appeared to be silvery glittered platforms, hints of them peeked out as she walked.
Strauss favors the platform style, which she often wore while making publicity rounds for the competition (including a pair of black crystal pumps she sported at her official costume unveiling).
The 64th annual Miss World competition was held at the Excel London ICC Auditorium, and saw women from 120 countries vie for the top prize.
Miss Hungary Edina Kulcsár claimed the runner-up spot, while Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit landed in third place. Other noteworthy shoe moments from the contestants included Miss Thailand Maeya Nonthawan’s glitzy ankle-strap pumps, as well as Safrit’s cowboy boots.
