Shop Talk: Macys Goes to the Middle East; Sorel Pops Up in New York

Sorel plans to debut its first-ever retail store this Thursday, Oct. 30, just in time for winter. The 3,300-sq.-ft pop-up shop in the Meatpacking District in New York City will feature fall and winter styles for men and women.
 
Macy’s Heads to the Middle East
U.S. retail heavyweights Macy’s and Bloomingdales are opening new locations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It’s the first international opening for Macy’s. Each store will be over 200,000-sq.-ft. and will be located in the Al Maryah Island shopping complex. Al Tayer, which operates a Bloomingdale’s location in Dubai, will manage the two stores.
 
COS opens in LA
Scandinavian brand COS (founded in 2007 as Collection of Style) will open its first U.S. location this week in Los Angeles. The apparel and footwear company’s newest store will have womenswear, menswear and a children’s collection. The 5,700-sq.-ft. location will debut on Oct. 30.
