Portugese fashion-comfort brand Fly London opened the doors to its first retail location in the U.S. yesterday, coinciding with its 20th anniversary this year.
Located in New York’s trendy West Greenwich Village, the 654-sq.-ft. store at 375 Bleecker St., boasts the full range of Fly London product including handbags and sunglasses, in addition to sister brand Softinos, also known for its assortment of contemporary looks.
According to Fly London co-owner Amilcar Monteiro, on hand for the opening with partner Fortunato Frederico and VP Dean Bosco of Canada-based Bos & Co., the North American distributor for the brand, the store is the seventh under the banner, following locations in countries including Ireland and Denmark.
“We wanted to make people aware it’s a huge brand with over 600 SKUs,” said Bosco about the company’s ability to showcase the full style assortment. “There’s no way an independent can represent that wide a range of product.”
The store also offers customers a chance to enjoy the great outdoors while shopping, boasting a cozy outdoor space where they can leisurely try shoes on.
Since the store’s soft launch last month, traffic has included area residents consisting of millennials to baby boomers, according to the company, as well as international tourists already familiar with the global brand.
