As part of its collaborations, The Original Muck Boot Co., based in Smithfield, R.I., has partnered with Modern Farmer magazine for a limited-edition insulated waterproof boot done in the publication’s signature orange.
The single-style women’s boot launched yesterday with 100-pair runs available at $160 retail on Muckbootcompany.com and shop.modernfarmer.com.
“We felt hobby farmers are who we’re trying to expand and grow with,” said Sean O’Brien, global director of retail footwear, about the burgeoning urban farming trend that includes rooftop and backyard gardening.
Prior to the Modern Farmer boot, the boot company collaborated with Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, creators of the Beekman 1802 franchise that includes a lifestyle brand, farm and store in upstate New York. According to O’Brien, the debut Beekman 1802 collection, which bowed for spring ’14, will be followed up with additional styles for holiday.
