Charlotte Olympia Dellal is setting up shop in Hong Kong.
Her namesake line, Charlotte Olympia, bowed its first stand-alone store in Asia last week as a partnership with the Pedder Group. Designed to evoke old Hollywood glamour, the space at The Landmark features the designer’s signature gold spider web in the window. Additional touches include a mirrored wall and leopard-print seating.
“The Asian market is one the brand has been focused on over the last year,” said Dellal. “I couldn’t have hoped for a better location within the Landmark to open my first store in Asia.”
Dellal, who also operates shops in London, New York, Los Angeles and Miami, celebrated the opening with a spy-themed cocktail party for VIP customers and guests last Wednesday. Her pre-fall collection, in stores now, is called Eye-Spy and was inspired by Bettie Page.
“I always love visiting Hong Kong. I love meeting women who love shoes as much as I do,” said Dellal. “It’s great to see my designs being worn and get firsthand feedback from my customers, which is invaluable.”
In fact, the designer said she had a fun interaction with one guest: “At the opening a customer saw my Kitty flats for the first time and bought them in every color.”
