Wolverine World Wide Inc. is changing up its executive leaderboard.
The Rockford, Mich.-based company announced this morning that Performance Group President Jim Zwiers will assume the role of president of the company’s International Group, replacing William Brown, who is retiring.
James Gabel will fill the position vacated by Zwiers as head of the Performance Group, consisting of Merrell, Saucony, Chaco, Cushe and Patagonia footwear. Gabel most recently served as president of Adidas Group Canada.
“Our global business model is one of the key differentiators for Wolverine, and Jim Zwiers is uniquely qualified to lead the International Group as the company expands the reach of its brands around the world,” Wolverine Chairman, President and CEO Blake Krueger said in a statement. “[And] Jim [Gabel’s] extensive experience building performance footwear and apparel brands, and successful track record driving growth across multiple consumer channels make him an ideal leader for the Performance Group.”
“It is an exciting opportunity to work with the industry-leading brands that are part of Wolverine’s Performance Group,” Gabel said in the statement. “I am privileged to join Wolverine and lead the teams that are driving innovation and growth for these tremendous brands.”
The company also announced that Andrew Simister, former president of the Lacoste Footwear brand for Pentland Brands Inc., will take over as president of Wolverine’s Lifestyle Group, including the Sperry Top-Sider, Keds, Hush Puppies and Stride-Rite Children’s Group brands.
