Vivarte Group is launching its iconic French shoes in Asia.
In regards to three of its brands — Minelli, Andre and CosmoParis — the Gallic company has signed a distribution agreement with Hong Kong-based Global Retail Inc. that includes opening stores in eight countries and a significant e-commerce presence in China, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.
“This agreement is a major and unprecedented step setting a base to the internationalization strategy that I defined for the group since I arrived in 2012,” said Marc Lelandais, Vivarte’s CEO and chairman. “It will allow us to attract a portion of Asian markets’ growth.”
The company expects this agreement to result in $350 million over the next four years. It expects to open 200 stores in Asia.
Vivarte’s partnership goes into effect today. The first Minelli store is scheduled to open in Shanghai’s Grand Gateway mall in January 2015.
