Greensboro, N.C.-based VF Corp. announced today that it had named Nike veteran Dan Cherian to the newly created role of VP of global innovation for performance apparel and footwear.
In the position, Cherian will oversee the Footwear Innovation Center in Stratham, N.H., and the Performance Apparel Innovation Center in Alameda, Calif. He’ll be responsible for hiring and leading teams of designers, engineers and scientists focused on developing new technologies and materials for the brands in VF’s portfolio, including The North Face, Timberland and Vans.

Adding Dan to our team to lead our performance apparel and footwear initiatives further demonstrates our commitment to creating breakthrough, must-have products for consumers.”
Cherian formerly served as manager of Portland, Ore.-based Nike’s Sustainable Business Lab, and has previously worked at Pfizer Inc. and the Boston Consulting Group.
