The Inspiration Behind Goodyear Spring ’15

Ray Wu sees a work of art in every bridge, tunnel and skyscraper. The design manager for Goodyear Footwear is fascinated with New York City’s structural landscape. “There’s lots of glass, but [also] brownstones,” said Wu, a former comic book illustrator, whose drawings inspire the brand’s marketing imagery. He noted that the city’s architectural diversity has found its way into the style and performance features of the workboot collection, licensed to New York-based SCL Footwear Group. “There are traces of workers’ deeds all over the city. It’s a beautiful order that results from the chaos.”
