Outdoor Buzz: Salewa, Cushe, Timberland & More

Off the Slopes
Italian brand Salewa will offer a new post-ski style for men and women for fall ’14. The $119 Capisco clog boasts PrimaLoft insulation and a proprietary waterproof membrane on the leather upper, with an automobile-inspired outsole for grip. The Capisco will deliver Sept. 15 to outdoor specialty and online accounts.

Sneaking Around
Cushe, a division of Rockford, Mich.-based Wolverine World Wide Inc., will introduce a line of sophisticated lightweight sneakers for men for fall ’14. The styles in the Cushe Sneak collection — a slip-on and a laceup, both available in textile or leather — take inspiration from the Cushe Slipper and Evo-Lite collections, and feature a molded EVA outsole and easy-on construction. Retailing from $60 to $85, the range will deliver to outdoor and footwear retailers and online dealers in mid-August.

Bug Out
Swedish outdoor brand Ice Bug will add a winterized running shoe for fall ’14. The Aurora BUGrip style features 19 carbide steel studs on the outsole for enhanced grip in icy conditions, a flexible midsole and increased water protection on the toe and front of the shoe for slushy days. The $180 shoe will deliver to running and outdoor shops in September.

Stormy Weather

Stratham, N.H-based Timberland, a division of VF Corp., targets the stylish commuter with its new men’s leather Stormbuck collection. The Stormbuck Duck shoe (at left) features a molded TPU brogue toecap on a full-grain aniline leather upper with full bootie-construction waterproofing. The Stormbuck Brogue Ox, Stormbuck Duck Chukka and Stormbuck Duck 6-inch Boot all feature seam-sealed waterproof construction, and all shoes feature a Green Rubber outsole with polyurethane lugs for traction. The $125-$160 collection will be available at department stores and select outdoor and online accounts beginning in July.
