Nike Inc. is taking aim at the training and basketball categories, and looking to accelerate overseas growth through a management shuffle, the company announced today.
The Beaverton, Ore.-based athletic brand named former VP and GM of global basketball Craig Zanon to what was described as “an expanded and elevated role” as VP and GM of global men’s training.
Michael Jackson, current VP and GM of North American basketball, will replace Zanon as VP and GM of global basketball.
Overseas, Marc van Pappelendam, VP and GM of the U.K. and Ireland, will become VP and GM of Central and Eastern Europe. Jim Reynolds, VP and GM of Russia, has been named VP and GM of Japan.
“Given the scale of our global business and the breadth of our consumer-focused categories, these moves continue to elevate our bench of leadership and focus our efforts against our biggest growth opportunities,” Nike Brand President Trevor Edward said in the release.
