LJP International Signs Women’s License

LJP International will add women’s footwear to its portfolio for fall ’14.

The Edison, N.J.-based company, which also holds the license for Robert Graham men’s shoes, will now produce Mootsies Tootsies under a long-term agreement with Nine West Holdings.

“The brand has had a very successful history with dressing the modern consumer, with fresh and on-trend footwear,” said Larry Paparo, president and CEO for LJP. “We are very pleased to obtain the license and optimize our full brand portfolio.”

The LJP team will take over design, production and sales for Mootsies Tootsies.

“This gives us the opportunity to grow, and LJP will be able to use tremendous resources for design and a retail presence,” said Mary Belle, president of licensing for Nine West Holdings. “LJP will maximize this opportunity [with] footwear for work to a dressy [occasion].”

The revamped line will debut at FFANY in June. Priced from $30 to $100, it currently sells at retailers including DSW and Amazon.com.

“We are focusing on where there have been strengths and taking it a step further,” said Paparo, whose company has had the license for Nine West Kids since 2011. “It’s the perfect combination for us to add Mootsies Tootsies because we’ve already been developing a relationship with the company.”
