Linea Pelle took a small step into the footwear market this month with its first shoe offering.
The handbag and accessories label’s flat Alex bootie, which retails at $385 and features black leather adorned with multiple silver zippers, is handcrafted in Los Angeles in collaboration with local designer and JBLA Studio CEO Jim Barnier.
“We felt it was a natural fit with our love for great handmade product,” Barnier said of the partnership. “This is a unique opportunity to produce distinctive boots and footwear here in Los Angeles.”
The single debut style is available solely via the brand’s e-commerce site, but Linea Pelle VP and creative director Andrew Cotton said the goal is to introduce more looks and wholesale over the next few seasons. “Our loyal customers are always asking for more product, so what better way than to get into footwear?” Cotton added. “We are really just testing this right now [and] we look forward to expanding our assortment.”
