Georgia Boot has signed on as an event sponsor and the official workboot of the Stihl Timbersports Series, a lumberjack sports event, for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
The agreement gives the Nelsonville, Ohio-based company a presence at every professional and collegiate event in the series. It also will receive exposure on the series’ website and social media outlets, along with commercial spots and in-show features during the televised contests. In addition, Georgia Boot and Stihl will co-produce direct-to-consumer marketing and promotional materials.
“Georgia Boot is excited to partner with Stihl to present the series to lumberjack fans across the country,” Jordan Gottke, brand manager, said in a company statement. “We have a tremendous heritage with logger boots, and aligning with Stihl is a perfect fit for both brands.”
Athletes compete in disciplines based on traditional logging skills to determine the best all-around lumberjack. Disciplines include hot saw, single buck, springboard chop, standing block chop, stock saw and underhand chop. More than 20 million annual viewers, in 62 countries, see the series on networks including ABC, Eurosport and ESPN.

The 2014 schedule kicks off March 14. The U.S. collegiate and professional championship is held June 20-22.
