Foot Locker is speeding up.
The athletic footwear retailer announced plans to offer shoppers same-day deliveries on all purchases from its website.
Working with Deliv, Menlo Park, Calif.-based crowdsourced delivery service, Footlocker.com will ramp up its shipping for an additional charge of $5, citing a recent Harris Poll survey that found that 81 percent of American were more likely to shop online if delivery was fast and affordable. The company will also allow shoppers to buy online and pick up in store.
“We want our customers to experience speed in everything they do, from shooting hoops to on the track,” said Mike Owens, Foot Locker’s EVP of operations. “Our customers don’t want to wait to improve their own performance, and neither do we. That’s why we’ve partnered with Deliv to pair our physical stores and online eCommerce sites to offer flexible, fast and affordable delivery for our customers no matter whether they are shopping online or in person.”
Once a purchase is made, Deliv contacts its personnel via GPS-enabled smartphones to fulfill the order. Customers are encouraged to rate each delivery experience.
