Foot Locker Inc. and Nike’s Jordan brand are teaming up again.
The companies have launched a new “Ready to Fly” campaign spotlighting NBA star Russell Westbrook.
The 60-second commercial opens with Westbrook approaching an aspiring basketball star and guiding him through the process of making it to the big leagues. Spike Lee also makes an appearance, snickering at the player while he’s doing drills.
“We are very excited to partner [on this campaign] to offer our customers an incredible collection of premium footwear and apparel this holiday season,” said Stacy Cunningham, EVP of marketing for Foot Locker. “We enjoyed working with Russell Westbrook on this campaign, as he is a great athlete to showcase the importance of hard work, dedication and what it takes to be a professional.”
The commercial debuts online today and will be broadcast Thursday, Dec. 11, on TNT. The spot was created by ad agency BBDO.
