Still, some storeowners said trends have slowed down late in the year.
For what’s selling, read on.
BRYN MAWR RUNNING CO., Bryn Mawr, Pa.
1. Nike Air Structure Triax
2. Saucony Triumph
3. Mizuno Wave Rider
Holiday trend: “There isn’t really any big new [product] story out there right now. We have some customers intrigued by the idea of Hoka One One and that oversized midsole, but it’s still a niche trend,” said assistant manager Jason Bull.
RUNNER’S ALLEY, Portsmouth, N.H.
1. Brooks Adrenaline
2. Saucony Ride
3. Hoka One One Clifton
Holiday trend: “The whole minimalist movement is becoming obsolete, and customers are saying they want a little more [support and cushioning] underfoot. So we love that brands are offering a wide range of drops with their bottoms,” said owner Jeanine Sylvester.
RIME, Brooklyn, N.Y.
1. Timberland x Stussy boot
2. Adidas Tubular
3. Nike Air Max 1 sneakerboot
Holiday trend: “We’re still doing well with runners and sleeker looks for women. Boot silhouettes also are trending well right now,” said owner Susan Boyle.
NAPERVILLE RUNNING CO., Naperville, Ill.
1. Brooks Ghost
2. Mizuno Inspire
3. Saucony Guide
Holiday trend: “We’re not seeing any new or exciting trends this season. We’re selling a lot of the same styles and brands we always do,” said owner Kris Hartner.
