Okimoto, formerly of RadioShack Corp., will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of Sports Authority’s marketing plans to drive sales both at stores and in e-commerce.
“Paul has a proven track record of leading innovative marketing strategies for a variety of national retailers and brands,” Darrell Webb, Sports Authority’s chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “His expertise in acquiring and retaining profitable customers and [in identifying] new market opportunities and strategic partnerships will be extremely valuable to Sports Authority as we focus on continued growth over the long term.”
