Alicia Keys is on the road again. The songstress is jetsetting through the U.S., Europe and Asia for her “Set the World on Fire Tour.” Here, Spy checks in with Keys’ stylist, Laura Jones, about footwear fit to heat up the stage.
How do you narrow down the footwear looks Alicia wears on stage?
“The shoes have to serve two equally important roles. They need to look great as well as feel great. As much as we love a towering stiletto, it’s just not sustainable to wear night after night. After many heel trials, we settled on a pair of Aldo’s Aserri T-strap heels with a Lucite heel. They are modern and beautiful but still very comfortable and easy to perform in.”
What is Alicia’s favorite shoe?
“She loves shoes and has a very impressive collection ranging from basic sneakers to one-of-a-kind couture heels. She has some amazing custom Givenchy heels that she absolutely adores.”
Did you include Reebok in the tour wardrobe since Swizz Beatz (Keys’ husband) is the creative director for Reebok Classics?
“Yes, absolutely, the new Reebok styles are great and we used them for the dancers’ costumes as well as for the band. Everyone is always looking for extra pairs to keep — they are super-popular.”
This month’s FN Summit, set for April 29 to May 1 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, has added two more big names to its all-star lineup. The event will feature Reebok President Uli Becker and Laure Heriard Dubreuil, co-founder and CEO of The Webster Miami. For more information about the summit, contact Kim Mancuso at 212-630-4212.
