Chaco is looking to get more kids outdoors.
The subsidiary of Rockford, Mich.-based Wolverine World Wide Inc. has signed on to become a founding partner of the Outsiders Ball, an event that will be held just before Outdoor Retailer kicks off this summer.
“By coming together as retailers, manufacturers and industry leaders, we can ensure a bright future for the outdoor industry,” Chaco GM Chip Coe said in a written statement. “We believe that our efforts to document and share inspirational stories of adventure will create excitement and lead more children and young adults toward a life of experiencing and appreciating the outdoors.”
As part of the initiative, Chaco will host an interactive booth at the Outdoor Ball’s July 30 event in Salt Lake City, on the eve of the Outdoor Retailer summer market. The event kicks off a multiyear, multimillion-dollar campaign to raise funds for retailer-endorsed and youth-led community projects.

Last month, Chaco also announced a partnership with the American Camp Association, where the brand makes an annual donation to the ACA’s “Send a Child to Camp” scholarship fund.
