Koolaburra LLC is in transition mode.
The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based brand announced Wednesday that the firm’s president and COO Bill Taylor had been promoted to CEO and would be stepping into that position immediately.
Taylor joined the company in May after serving as president and CEO of Danish clog brand Sanita. Prior to Sanita, he held management titles at Diesel Footwear and Tommy Hilfiger.
In other executive moves, Koolaburra president and chief creative director Kris Zacharias has exited after more than five years at the firm. Zacharias’ departure comes six months after he transitioned to that position from his former role as creative director and chief product officer.
Taylor praised Zacharias’ track record with the company. “Kris has worked with our team to move Koolaburra forward as a fashion-driven footwear brand and lifestyle,” the CEO said in a statement.
VP of product development Gina Hester will take over design and product, and the firm has no immediate plans to replace Zacharias, Taylor told Footwear News.
