NY Shoe of the Day: Altuzarra

With a brightened spotlight on him since news broke of Kering’s investment in his namesake label, Joseph Altuzarra delivered a pivotal collection. Liquid silk draping (both striped and in a spun gold hue) was expertly juxtaposed with crisp shirting. While looks always retained elegance, there was quite a lot going on, what with pearl and paste embellishment and slim knit layers added to the mix. Thankfully, Altuzarra again relied on Gianvito Rossi to provide subdued shoes. Beige and black mules were marked for their simplicity — and soaring height. They certainly lifted things.
