LD Tuttle Launches E-commerce

LD Tuttle opens its virtual doors on Nov. 15 with the launch of e-commerce.

“Without having a flagship store, [our] website will now be the digital flagship that will serve women who can’t physically make it in to Dover Street Market [in London], Saks Fifth Avenue, Fred Segal, Luisa Via Roma [in Florence, Italy] and some of our other destination stores around the world,” said Tiffany Tuttle, owner and designer of the Los Angeles-based label.

In conjunction with the launch, Tuttle is offering four of her most popular signature boots in exclusive leathers and colors, including The Balance in ember suede.

“It’s a style from fall ’12 that did very well, but we did not offer it to our U.S. retailers [again this fall],” she said.

Tuttle added that her goals for the site are in line with her company’s continued expansion plan. “For the first few seasons, it will be a small part of the business,” she said. “It is always very important to me that we grow things organically. Our wholesale business has been extremely important to us, and we want the site to be a complement to that.”
