City Sports will open shop in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on March 16, a date that coincides with the company’s 30th anniversary.
The 9,200-sq.-ft. space will include expanded departments for footwear and apparel, as well as an indoor track and treadmill to test more than 300 athletic styles. The opening party next week will feature gift bags, raffles and a 5K run sponsored by Nike.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off City Sports’ birthday than with the housewarming of our new home in Chestnut Hill,” the retailer’s president and CEO, Edward Albertian, said in a statement. “We have always been embraced by the Chestnut Hill community, and we look forward to offering our customers an unparalleled shopping experience.”
Additionally, City Sports will debut its largest location — measuring more than 10,500 square feet — in New York’s Financial District this spring. This store will mark the company’s third retail spot in New York. City Sports currently operates 21 doors on the East Coast.
