Target today announced designer Phillip Lim will create a fall ’13 men’s and women’s collection that includes footwear, apparel and accessories.
The collection, dubbed 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, will consist of more than 100 products retailing for $20 to $300. Target’s SVP of merchandising, Trish Adams, said in a statement that the idea behind the partnership — like the majority of the retailer’s collaborations — is to democratize design.
“[Lim] is a designer we’ve had our eye on for years,” Adams said in a statement, citing the modern aesthetic of the CFDA Award-winner’s eponymous New York-based label.
Lim noted he was on board with the retailer’s mission to bring affordable fashion to the public. “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire — one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible,” he said.
The 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target offerings are slated to hit retail on Sept. 15.
