Pentland Group Plc. has received the 2013 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the international trade category, the company announced today.
Pentland Chairman Stephen Rubin said in a statement that the company was “delighted to have been honored again for our international trading achievements.” He credited the award, which recognizes companies with substantial overseas growth, to Pentland’s long-term relationships and focus on following strict standards of conduct.
The accolade marks the fifth time that the privately-held Pentland Group has been recognized with a Queen’s Award for business performance, with the previous four bestowed upon individual brands under the company’s umbrella, including Speedo and Boxfresh.
Pentland’s international sales climbed about 40 percent between 2009 and 2012 and the firm currently trades in more than 190 countrieso outside the UK, according to Rubin.
