Hi-Tec Sports Names New US Head

Hi-Tec Sports has tapped Simon Bonham as the new CEO of its U.S. subsidiary, effective immediately.

Brad Gebhard, who was named CEO last January, is leaving the company.

Bonham, formerly Hi-Tec’s global marketing director, will report to global CEO Ed van Wezel and oversee the brand’s Hi-Tec and Magnum brands. Bonham will be based in the firm’s U.S. headquarters in Portland, Ore.

“Simon’s proven track record within our business ensures that the experience gained can be put to great use in the U.S. He, like so many long-serving people in the Hi-Tec Sports organization, has a huge Hi-Tec and Magnum heart, a great work ethic and understands the business intimately,” van Wezel said in a statement. “Brad has been an outstanding member of Hi-Tec’s executive team, and we thank him for his contributions. His leadership has made a lasting impact on the Magnum and Hi-Tec U.S. brands.”

Separately, the company named Ian Little as the marketing manager of Hi-Tec USA and Magnum USA; Luke Barlow as USA director of e-commerce; and DeGay Harris as director of accounting of Hi-Tec USA.

“This new U.S. team will prove invaluable as we continue to build our business across the U.S.,” van Wezel said in the statement.
