Del Toro and Modaoperandi.com have joined forces to create a spring ’14 capsule collection, exclusive to the luxury e-tailer.
The 20 styles of women’s loafers feature different but coordinating images (for example, one set is emblazoned with hot air balloons on one shoe and clouds on the other). Priced at $340 per pair, the collection hit Moda Operandi’s site today and will be available for preorder through Dec. 10.
“Women want to have fun with their accessories, so we created a collection of Del Toro loafers in which each pair tells a colorful, playful story,” said Indre Rockefeller, director of ready-to-wear at Moda Operandi.
Del Toro co-founder and creative director Matthew Chevallard added that the partnership would help push his Miami-based label’s women’s category. “Moda Operandi is an incredible channel for us to communicate our new and quickly emerging Del Toro women’s line,” he said. “We trust Moda Operandi as an exclusive purveyor, not only of the latest trends, but of women’s style.”
Separately, Del Toro is preparing to unveil yet another collaboration. Chevallard and Lapo Elkann, founder of the label Italia Independent, created a custom pair of sunglasses, retailing at $247, and a matching velvet and suede chukka, priced at $365, set to debut at the label’s pop-up shop during Art Basel Miami Beach next month. The pop-up, slated to run through March 2014, will also offer other Del Toro collaborations as well as men’s and women’s items from the brand’s main line.
