Buzz: Zigi NY, Rockport, Aerosoles & More

Zigi NY will restart its men’s business for fall after a two-year hiatus. The New York-based company will introduce three collections under Zigi Black Label, Zigi NY and Zigi Soho. “The young men’s business is going to be an extension of our successful women’s collections,” said Dan Singer, director of men’s for the firm. “We’ve been waiting for the correct window to launch the men’s collections. Our DNA [for] Zigi Men’s is where rock ’n’ roll meets fashion.” At the high end is Zigi Black Label, retailing for $330 to $500 and targeted to department stores. Zigi NY (at left), retailing from $190 to $250, and Zigi Soho, for $100 to $170, focus on modern, metro looks. While Zigi NY targets department stores, Zigi Soho is aimed at big-box retailers. All will deliver in August and be available in Zigi stores. For spring ’14, Rock & Soda athletic-inspired looks will be added.

Feet First

Spanish lifestyle brand Lottusse will bring its men’s shoes to the U.S. for fall ’13. The series of modern classics includes sport casuals, moccasins and Goodyear-welted styles retailing from $295 to $495. Distributed through SGN Group in New York, the line is targeted to better department and specialty stores, including Bloomingdale’s and Garmany in Red Bank, N.J. The men’s launch follows the spring ’13 debut of Lottusse’s footwear and accessories collection for women, retailing from $250 to $350. Delivery for men’s is slated for August.

Handy Work
Canton, Mass.-based Rockport will raise the bar on its men’s offering for fall ’13 with the launch of Crafted by Rockport, a high-end series retailing from $115 to $225. “It’s our way of expanding the perception of who Rockport is,” said Dave Pompel, VP of men’s for the brand. “[Crafted by Rockport] is the most current expression of the brand.” The collection also will feature the label’s original lighthouse logo. The line is targeted to premium independents, e-tailers and better department stores, with delivery slated for August.

Step Lightly

Edison, N.J.-based Aerosoles takes a light approach to fall with the launch of AerGo, a collection of super-lightweight casuals. The athletic-inspired, flexible EVA outsoles provide enhanced shock absorption. Included in the offering are Mary Jane styles, clogs and espadrilles available in a range of colorways. Retailing for $79, the line will deliver in August.
