Paris Shoe of the Day: Chanel

Bedazzle-browed models in shapely tweed coats, wool separates and fingerless gloves hit the runway at Chanel today for Karl Lagerfeld’s mineral-inspired collection. The asymmetrical cut-out heels, however, were a rock-solid hit. Classically Chanel with a round toe and single sole, this ankle-hugging style was updated with an over-the-top cutout that provided more than a peek-a-boo. And the color-blocked leather, paired with Chanel’s signature tweed, added fresh interest while giving a well-deserved nod to the brand’s heritage. The most innovative feature? A chunky Lucite heel with jagged crystals that gave new meaning to edgy design.
