S.A. Elite Concept Grows
The Sports Authority is prepping to debut its first S.A. Elite concept store location on the East Coast. A 10,000-sq.-ft. store is slated to open this summer at The Mall in Columbia, Md. In all, the chain now has seven S.A. Elite stores in operation.

Gregory’s To Bow in L.A.
Gregory’s, the Dallas-based shoe retailer, is headed to Los Angeles. The store is slated to be open by April. The retailer has already tested the L.A. waters, having bought Fred Segal Feet from Stanley and Patti Silver early last year.

Flip Flop Shops Increases Pace
Flop Flop Shops, with 50 stores currently operating in the U.S., Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, has announced plans to open 40 new stores by the end of 2012. An additional 40 stores are already in the planning stages for 2013. The new stores include locations in St. Thomas; Honolulu; Miami; Destin, Fla.; and San Luis Obispo, Calif. “By focusing on growing with the right franchisees, providing the ultimate consumer experience, and offering the hottest brands, we developed a breakthrough brand,” President Brian Curin said in a statement. “We kicked our growth up a notch in 2011, but we’re taking Flip Flop Shops to the next level in 2012.”
