Love My Shoes Shutters

After 16 years, juniors’ retailer Love My Shoes has closed down its business.

Four New York stores, including locations in Huntington Station, Babylon, Oceanside, and Carle Place, have already shuttered their doors and the remaining Bayside, N.Y., location will close down within the next week, according to owner Robert Yeganeh.

“I threw a lot of money into this business and it tapped me out,” said Yeganeh. “We’ve been struggling for the past three years. It’s what the economy did.”

The company’s website, Lovemyshoes.com, has also stopped stocking merchandise. The stores were known for carrying product under the $100 price point, including brands such as Jessica Simpson, Chinese Laundry, Zigi NY and Charles by Charles David. “There was competition with other big-box retailers,” said Yeganeh.

Moving forward, the retailer said he plans to stay in the footwear industry and aims to partner with an existing company to assist with a new project in the retail realm.

“If I can be a supplier for one or more manufacturers who don’t have an outlet store, we can use the outlets as a branding opportunity,” he said.
