Charles David is in launch mode, debuting e-commerce and handbags under the Charles by Charles David label next month.
More than 50 new spring styles for both Charles David and the lower-priced Charles by Charles David line will be available on Charlesdavid.com beginning Feb. 15. Online exclusives, collaborations and pre-sales also are all in the works.
“The new site will reach customers that we have been unable to service and provide with the selection and quality they demand,” said creative director Nathalie Marciano. Product will be available for shoppers domestically and internationally.
The pre-launch, which starts Jan. 26, will feature a limited-time flash sale with two online exclusive styles from both brands. Customers who participate in an email opt-in will receive lifetime second-day shipping for free, 25 percent off select merchandise and they’ll be entered to win a $2,000 gift card for the site.
In other news, Charles by Charles David handbags will debut at the upcoming FFANY and Project trade shows. Karl Morton Collective, led by two former Charles David designers, has been named the exclusive licensee for that collection, which will retail for $45 to $95. Karl Morton Collective also is the licensee for the relaunch of Charles David handbags, previously produced by Signal Products from 2004 from 2009. Price points for the new Charles David bags will be $95 to $395.

“The handbag category was very important for us because our customer was demanding it, and we have found the perfect partner with KM Collective,” said Marciano.
Both Charles David and Charles by Charles David handbags will be available at the brand’s stores and at select retail locations.
