Butter, Something Bleu to Launch E-commerce

Molli Enterprises is amping up its online presence for its two labels.

Women’s brand Butter and bridal line Something Bleu plan to add e-commerce to both of their websites in November.

The 5-year-old company’s online business has increased significantly over the past few seasons, with online sales (to outside sites) contributing 30 percent of total sales, according to co-founder and director Lee Riech.

“We’ve always wanted to [bow e-commerce] and we felt it was the next step for us,” Riech said, noting that Something Bleu’s partnership with bridal e-tailer BHLDN has given a significant boost to the company’s Web sales.

“We do a lot of [styles with] color, and the consumer can really get a sense of that online,” Riech added. She also credited demand for made-in-Italy footwear for the growth of both labels’ Web presence. “I still believe very strongly in Italian-made products, and more women are shopping for that online.”
