Birkenstock USA is heading home.
After years of troubled sales, followed by reorganizational efforts, the Novato, Calif.-based company has announced plans to return to its former headquarters after achieving double-digit sales increases.
According to the firm, the 93-acre campus, which offers 37,000 square feet of office space, will allow Birkenstock to continue to grow its workforce. The move is expected to be completed by the end of September.
The brand left its historical home in 2007 and relocated to Hamilton Landing Air Force Base. The company’s distribution facility will remain in Hebron, Ky.
“We’re really looking forward to returning to our old home,” director of product development Shelly Glasgow said in a statement. “Our brand has such history and heritage attached to it that going back just feels natural and the timing is right.”
