Milan Runway Trend: Seeing Green

Whether lime, emerald or olive, green popped up on many a runway for fall ’11. Moschino Cheap & Chic opted for a cheeky take on the ubiquitous menswear-inspired trend with a lime-green metallic kiltie loafer, while Dolce & Gabbana and Pucci both showed more ladylike styles in emerald hues. Prada was all about trompe l’oeil footwear this season, with knee-high suede boots in an asparagus color featuring bright-green snakeskin to create an ankle-strap pump look. Emporio Armani favored grass-green suede booties worn with cropped black pants, while Sergio Rossi was playing on an “Eyes Wide Shut” theme, with mask-like ankle lacing on jade velvet pumps.
