Titan Inks Zadig & Voltaire License

Joe Ouaknine has added another luxe name to his brand roster.

The Titan Industries CEO has signed an 8-year licensing agreement to produce shoes under the French Zadig & Voltaire brand name. The new line joins Titan’s house of brands that include Badgley Mischka, Charles Jourdan, L.A.M.B., and Joe’s Jeans, among others.

Zadig had been producing its shoe line in-house. Under the new agreement, Titan will produce the shoes and sell them through the brand’s 300 retail stores as well as wholesale accounts both abroad and in the U.S.

The shoes will retail for about $250 and will debut for fall ’12.

“It’s casual luxury, and it’s like nothing we do right now,” Ouaknine said. “It’s extremely European. It’s hip. Their clothing is young and rich. I’m going to have to go through their archives and follow their footsteps. I’m not creating it. There is already a history there, and we’re going to follow it.”
