Sports Authority CEO Resigns

Sports Authority has a new head.
The retail company announced Monday that David Campisi has resigned as president and CEO of the Englewood, Colo.-based chain. Darrell Webb has been named interim CEO.
Campisi joined Sports Authority in 2004 and served in various executive roles prior to being named CEO in 2010.
Jonathan Sokoloff, managing partner of Leonard Green & Partners, the retailer’s parent, said in a statement, “I want to thank David for the positive role he has played in contributing to the growth of our business during his tenure at Sports Authority.”
Webb was most recently chairman and CEO of Jo-Ann Stores. He will retain his position as chairman there while serving as interim CEO of Sports Authority.
“As a life-long sports and outdoor enthusiast, I am extremely excited about joining the Sports Authority team and I am looking forward to the positive contributions I can make to the company’s already-strong market position,” Webb said.
