Darn Tough Vermont is using True-Seamless technology to improve comfort in its ski and ride socks for fall. The padded styles will have a shin cushion designed to decrease leg and foot fatigue while adding extra comfort. In addition, the brand will extend its color offering with more fashionable hues, including teal, moss heather, green tea and dark purple. Retailing for $15 for kids’ and $22 for adult styles, the socks will be available at specialty outdoor stores, Eastern Mountain Sports, Shoebuy.com and Backcountry.com.
GoldToeMoretz is targeting fashion-conscious men with its line G from Gold Toe. The collection of 10 styles will include both dress and casual socks inspired by the suiting on “Mad Men” and characters in “Inception.” The looks are made from bamboo, microfiber nylon and mercerized cotton, and will feature an embroidered “G.” Each pair will retail for $6 and can be found at department stores and Goldtoe.com.

Boulder, Colo.-based artist Laura Tyler lent her talents to SmartWool for a collection of graphic socks. The SmARTwool Gallery Collection was inspired by Tyler’s fondness for nature and features three floral patterns, with a color palette that includes neutrals, purple and evergreen. Made of merino wool, the socks are antimicrobial and breathable and feature supportive arch braces and strategic mesh zones for ventilation. They will retail for $20 to $26 at specialty stores.
Footwear and ready-to-wear brand Adrienne Vittadini is entering the legwear market for fall. The brand will partner with United Legwear Co. for a collection of 15 sock styles, five tights and two trouser socks made of cotton yarns and rayon in rich color schemes. Retail prices will range from $16 to $25, and the styles will be sold at department stores such as Nordstrom and Lord & Taylor, as well as on Zappos.com.
K-Swiss has designed a new collection of performance socks with the athlete in mind. The seamless socks, debuting for fall, have moisture protection to keep feet dry and have targeted ventilation to reduce odor. The offering features more than 30 styles made from polyester, spandex and nylon, and colors include blue, black and gray, with select styles in neon pink, yellow, blue and green. Prices range from $12 to $22, and the socks will retail at K-Swiss stores, Lady Foot Locker and Amazon.com.
Designer Donna Karan is extending her line this fall with knit legwear. The Luxe Layers collection consists of soft, opaque hosiery, including tights, leggings and over-the-knee stockings. Each style comes in black and dark gray and features a brushing effect on the inside to create warmth. All hosiery in the collection will retail for $24 and will arrive at major retailers in mid-September.

Legwear brand K.Bell will introduce a fashion-forward Black Label line for fall. The collection uses bold colors, modern patterns and shiny metallic finishes on items such as black knee-highs with a side panel of lace, and on metallic-gray over-the-knee socks. The 51 looks range in price from $4 to $19 a pair and will be available at Nordstrom, Dillard’s and select boutiques nationwide.
A new angora sock collection from Dansko hits shelves this fall. The styles feature an acrylic blend for warmth and also boast moisture protection. The North Carolina-made offering includes a solid and striped version of a crew, and a knee-high in white, black and gray with bright stripes. The styles will retail for $16 to $20 on Dansko.com and at select retailers nationwide.
