Milan Runway: In the Nude

Designers followed their natural instincts for spring, offering up neutral-colored styles in patent or matte leather, suede and mesh. Tod’s and newcomer Marco de Vincenzo both showed variations on caged-toe sandals with wooden stacked heels, while Etro opted for chunky 1970s-style wooden wedges. Salvatore Ferragamo and Alberta Ferretti both took flat sandals up a notch with straps that laced up the leg, and Versace and C’N’C Costume National went for asymmetrical and minimalist looks.
