Zigi is making another big management change.
On Tuesday, the company announced that industry veteran Andy Petersen had been named president of the brand, effective July 1.
Petersen replaces former Stride Rite executive Pam Salkovitz, who joined the firm in that role in late 2009.
Petersen previously held top posts at Rocket Dog, Nordstrom, Nine West and Tommy Hilfiger.
“We are thrilled to have Andy on board to lead our team through expansion in 2010 and beyond,” said CEO Segev Davidson, in a statement. “Andy’s global experience, personal relationships with retailers and understanding of the market are second to none, and I am confident that his leadership will enable us to gain further market share for all collections under the Zigi fold.”
Petersen is tasked with launching the label’s cold weather line this fall, as well as overseeing the debut of a children’s collection and a new women’s accessory line slated for spring 2011.
“I joined Zigi because of the fresh innovation of product and the company’s ability to react quickly to trends, design and production for our customers,” said Petersen. “Having in-house materials, design and production allows us to react quickly in a fast-moving fashion market.
